I’m from a city where legal internships are not offered and if they are offered the internship is 3 hours away from me. I wanted to know because of this will this affect my admissions for law school due to that I can not find any internships in my area? And please no rude answers thank you!
No, not having a legal internship will not affect law school admission. The sole purpose would be exposure so that you have a somewhat better idea of what’s involved before you commit to law school.
LSAT score counts for over 50% of one’s admission chances. Undergraduate GPA is next at about 30%. Legal internship counts for less than 5% if at all.
Thank You!
Thank you
You don’t need a legal internship for admission to law school. As has been mentioned in other threads, law schools do value work experience, but it does not need to be law-related.
The point of a legal internship is to make sure you know what law practice really looks like (as opposed to what you see on TV), before you drop ~300k on law school. It is not required, but it is a very good idea.
