i want to go into the marketing/consulting field after undergraduate school and am thinking of accomplishing that by interning while studying econ at williams. is it hard to find good business internships at williams? i know that it takes about 2 hours to get from williams to boston and its not like williams is planted in a bustling city. what do you guys think? your opinions are GREATLY appreciated!

superchica, It would not be practical to have a school year internship in Boston; however there are lots of opportunities during summer and holidays.

Williams has an aggressively active career placement department that helps students find internships during summers and holidays. There is also ample funding available. They arrange seminar weekends in New York so that students can network with alums in their areas of interest and learn about life and work in the real world.

You will find successful Williams graduates in just about any field, including marketing/consulting and they have a reputation of helping their own. A Williams degree is well respected on Wall Street, at most Fortune 500 companies (especially East Coast) and among the large non-profit foundations. Williams also has an excellent track record for getting their students into top business schools.

i talked to my mom today and she told me no one interns during the school year and its mostly a summer thing -- i should have done a bit more research before i asked such a question! sorry about that and thanks for the help (:
