For those of you who have done internships during the school year, would you suggest trying to take this route? What are some pros and cons that are not necessarily obvious (e.g. working while going to class- are there other things to consider?)

I have done it but you should not attempt it on top of a full load of classes. Many schools allow students to get credit for internships, which is great, but this sometimes comes with strings. In my case, in order to get credit for the internship I had to write a 20 page paper, supervised by a professor, totally seperate from what I was doing for the internship. Also getting credit can place restrictions on the amount of time you must work and other things about your internship as well. You may also be required to meet frequently with a professor or write journal entries about what you do at your internship. So before trying to get credit, all the restrictions and requirements need to be investigated.
