I've received numerous emails and pm's regarding Internship searches.

For those of you that are interested in obtaining an internships for the summer/spring/fall/winter, I am considering starting an online business which provides internship positions for students across the United States.

This is how it will work:

Members will make an account (Non-profit/Profit) and fill out an application which will determine positions they are interested in and where they are located. Using this information, you will be notified with specific jobs/internships in your area that meet your interests. All the research will be done for you! All you have to do is "Apply!"

Let me now if you guys are interested. If enough people are interested I will get this started.

If you have any questions feel free to aim me: Eurof1 or email

Hi Russkiy_Bear, I'm definitely interested in your offer. I just hope its not some kind of scam. With the internet these days you can never be too sure of things.

It's already been done; see: Fastweb.com

I understand your concerns. I can assure you this is not a scam/spam. I would like to help out other students at the same run an online business. I've talked to several members on the board, they can assure you I am not someone to screw you over.

If enough members are interested I will go ahead and get the website running.

Feel free to email/im me.

Thanks for the link. Fastweb.com seems to be more of a scholarship search engine. I did look through their internship searches and I did not get the results I wanted.

They compile everything: jobs, internships, scholarships, etc; and is by far, the most used aggregator for such interests (for college students, mind you).

What do you intend to do; pull less publicized internships from the woodworks? It seems futile to compete with the giant fastweb has become (see: 35 million registered users).

It's an idea still in progress

It may be tough, but I think it is possible to set up a solid intern site. You just have to find the right niche in the market. I think it is a good idea and you may be able to build your business based on the fact that fast web has grown to large. While your business is growing there will be less competition for internships which can drive demand for your site depending on the quality of your product.

I think the hardest part will be getting the good internships to post on your site. If you pull that off then its just like the movie Field of Dreams.

"If you build it, they will come."

"While your business is growing there will be less competition for internships which can drive demand for your site depending on the quality of your product."
can you explain how less competition for internships would drive demand for an internship website?

Sure...If he provides a high quality product that fills a market need in great quantity, then demand will grow for that product. Fastweb is a massive site that enters you into a contest with everyone in every school in your area. If an alternative site was to open up and provide solid internships, the site will grow due to the demand for those internships. Because the site would be new and there would be less competition for students searching for internships, more and more people will seek out that site for help finding a good internship. The key for him will be to find his niche in the market. Maybe he focuses within a certain major, or industry. In any case it is very possible for his idea to work.

His place under the sun, so to speak.

I am still considering this idea and planning a few things out. I will keep you guys posted!
