Hi there, are internships at GW as accessible / abundant as the school says they are? Are they extremely competitive to get? One of my main reasons to transfer would be academics + those internship opportunities since where I am right now there are very little.
Internships are absurdly easy to get at GW, provided you work them in the school year (summer internships are more competitive because college kids from everywhere apply). In addition to working for members of Congress and the Senate, there are internships at the White House and many of the museums, including the Smithsonian, as well as lots of other places.
Yeah, internships are as plentiful as advertising suggests. Sure, the most coveted ones (White House and the more popular members of Congress) are super competitive, but there are a lot of different ones to choose from, among many fields.
