Internships Summer between HS and college

So I've been looking into potential internships for this summer, and I really am having a hard time finding them for students who just graduated and aren't in college yet. I was thinking that there should be a thread on here for that. Can people post internships that HS Class of 2011 would qualify for on here? Any field.

Thanks :)

I have been looking for the same thing and would really like to hear some advice. Anyone out there who has landed a solid internship after their senior year of high school?

My advice, which goes to College Freshman as well, is to look for internships with upstart/weak incumbent political races. Generally they will need bodies, aren’t terribly selective, and you can get a good letter of reccomendation. And if they win it could be very beneficial to you in the future when you look for other internships. Of course in 2011 there aren’t going to be that many elections.

Bumping this thread since I’m interested as well!

I did the BOA Student Leaders program last year–it’s opened to seniors too, if that helps. Although I think the deadline already passed/is approaching very quickly.

BoA has passed (I applied to it). Trying to find other internships for high school seniors going into college next year also. I don’t want to be lazy during my summer lmao (want to do something interesting and impactful)

I’m interested also.
I just heard about the BOA Internship yesterday, but it was already closed :(

I would suggest finding a place in your hometown that needs a steady volunteer. I did this during the summer between my freshman and sophomore years (but could have easily done it between HS and college).

I live near a small Army base that had a system set up where I would get rotated around to whoever needed me. The good part was that I could make my own hours. I got some cool opportunities, like using some of the skills I learned freshman year to help out one of the areas on base and I also got to help set up a stage for a concert.

The best part of all of it was it was what got me my internship for next summer. It wasn’t my 3.9 GPA that stuck out to them, it was the 200 hours of community service that grabbed their attention. They loved the idea of someone giving back to their community.

There are tons of places that can always use a volunteer. Check out local nonprofits, like thrift shops (Goodwill), YMCA, Red Cross, USO, etc.
