Interview

How many of those who got accepted had an interview? Of the 5 ivies I applied to, I had an interview with 4 (Yale, UPenn, Brown, Dartmouth). I was accepted to Cornell, but none of the others although I feel I am good with interviews. So I'm wondering, was the interview a big part of the Cornell process?

I applied to hotel and you bet it was important.

I applied engineering and got in.

I didn't really have an interview... it was more of a come-in-and-talk-with-alumni-and-ask-questions deal. The alumni even told me that they weren't there to evaluate me and pass comments to the adcoms

I had one for Harvard. A lot of help it did..

i didn't have an interview. my friend who got accepted to dartmouth got an interview. and the interviewer had the dame personality as she did and i think she wrote a really good recommendation for her. If i had her interviewer i don't think my interview would have gone as good as hers. So interviews i don't think play a big part in admissions unless its the hotel school which the interview is rated very highly.

The alumni interview that's optional plays no bearing in the admissions process (supposedly). It's just an information session for you and an opportunity for you to talk about the school. The schools that require the interview (Hotel . . . err Architecture and . . ? ) the interview is supposedly important (or at least a factor)
