Hey everyone,
I posted yesterday but I just really need some help. I have been preparing for interviews, and I somewhat know how I will answer the commonly asked questions but I just don't know what questions I should ask. It probably sounds really stupid but I'm so stuck!
Thank you so much!

Kelly - hopefully, you have spent A LOT of time reading everything you can about the schools that you’re going to visit. If you’ve done that, you probably have some questions about each that relate to your interests. It could be questions about studying something that you’re especially interested in, or an extracurricular activity that you might like to explore, or a social angle like dorm life or formal dinners, or relationships with teachers. Your special knowledge of each school that you visit will help the Admission’s Officer at that school to realize that you really want to go to his/her school. This is very important. Otherwise, you’re just “any old kid doing tours.”

Kelly- In addition to your other questions, ask the Admissions Officer what brought them to the school. You’ll get some interesting insight.

Do as much research as you can beforehand, but also know you’ll have more questions following the tour ( a student will take you around campus prior to your interview).

Be prepared and relax. Remember, you’re interviewing them, too and you’ll be a great addition to any SS community! Good luck!!

The point of the interview is to get to know “YOU.” There really is nothing to prepare for. An interview gives them a face behind the application and lets them get a feel for how you’d fit into the campus culture. Be yourself and relax.

An interview is a two-way street.

I’m not sure what you mean by a two-way street. It’s an audition. A chance for the school to determine who the student is and distinguish them from the others in a pile of thousands. Yes - applicants who don’t know anything about a school might send up a few flags, but cramming on a few facts about a school won’t help either. Trust me, I can tell what students know only what is on the website and have a million ways to figure out why they chose to apply. Interviewers aren’t looking for perfect - too many parents hiring consultants and often smooth, perfect candidates turn out to be lousy students.

Which is why we said “be yourself.” You want to be chosen by a school that fits you so you’ll enjoy the experience.

What if you’re so weird/quirky that being yourself guarantees zero admission.

I pretty much faked my way through all of the interviews last year because I find my personality disgusting and unappealing.

+1 point for MBLoveless

I appreciate your candidness but then how do you live with yourself? Most people somehow reconcile with and accept themselves over time…

How do you reconcile?

nvm, I don’t want this thread to turn into a teen help forum. Good luck kellykelly12.
