Interview question need help

So I recently got a referral for a consulting firm that does Educational and Health Care consulting services. I wound up applying for a few of the entry level positions online. My contact sent my resume through and I got an interview, however the interview is with a position I feel like I am not as qualified for, because it deals with health care rather than education. I told my contact what my interests were (higher education) and my resume is much, much more tailored towards that. Should I tell the HR rep that I would prefer to be considered for the other position? I mean I am qualified for all of them on a basic level, but the position in education is my more aligned to my interests and strengths.

It is easier to manauver yourself within a company than outside of it.

Yeah, take whatever job they offer you - that’s priority #1.

After you prove you’re a good employee you can make some lateral moves.

You can’t really be that unqualified for an entry level position.

^^^^ Of course you can be.

Take the offer. Work hard. After a few months, inquire about positions in the education area.
