I have an interview scheduled to take place soon with a Penn alumni and I would like some advice from someone experienced. What type of questions should I to expect? Also, considering the fact that the interview is expected to take place at some Starbucks, do I need to dress up in a dress-shirt and a tie or just casually?

I had my interview at Penn, but I will tell you this: my interview was realyl just a conversation. The interviewer was really nice and made me feel very at home. He asked me about my past (moving, schools, what I thought of myself academically), about what I wanted to do (and how that applied to going to Penn). He also let me ask a TON of questions. I would say just be personable. Dont try to awe him with a webster's vocabulary; be conversational and friendly. That's the best advice I can give. OH: be RELAXED, its not that big a deal! But seriously, dont screw up :)

I would wear a nice shirt, not a t-shirt, but maybe something along the lines of a regular buttonup with an undershirt, and some nice slacks maybe. Shoes are up to you. No tie if its at a starbucks, but again, its up to you.

any other suggestions? I would really appreciate it.

I had my interview today. He called last night at 9 pm to set up my interview. It was pretty good, I guess. He asked me like three questions: Why I want to study my major? What do I see myself doing after 5 years? and Would I take a job in my native country?
Basically we talked about him living in Saudi Arabia. It wasn't really fun for me but I was friendly and conversational. I think he had fun talking about himself though lol.
Wear nice clothes. I wore a jacket and a gypsy skirt as my dress pants were either in the laundry or needed ironing.
Yeah and be yourself. Don't let your nervousness show, although you won't really feel nervous. I didn't but I did couple of interviews before. As the second poster said, its more of a conversation.

aaahhh i want my penn interview!!
