Does anyone know if Northwestern is giving out interviews to people in Long Island (or near NYC) for RD applicants who applied relatively close to the deadline? If you don’t receive one, will you be put as a disadvantage?
Interviews are not important at NU. Look at the Common Data Set, page 7:

I have 2 kids that went to NU, one admitted ED and one RD - neither interviewed.
I took my interview today for Medill in the city. I heard that interviews are optional. But for someone like me that’s not at the top of the applicant pool, it certainly gives me some type of leverage.
We live in Florida and my son send the interview request, but did not get any responses yet. We visited the campus earlier in the year and his stats are good, he is at the top of the class. I also heard that one of his friends did have an alumni interview recently in our area, so I was just wondering if that means that the school is not interested
