Hi Everyone!! I have my alumni interview this saturday at a local coffee shop. My interviewer sounds quite nice, but also said his interview is longer than most (an hour and a half). All I am asking from you guys are any and all questions that you think will come up? Moreover, is there any good advice out there to make yourself standout and successful while interviewing? Thank you so much!
He might ask you why you chose a Russian imperial flag for your avatar and whether you are a Russian irredentist
Generally speaking, you want to have well thought out and articulated answers to the following questions:
- Why Georgetown? What is it about the school that most appeals to you and makes you want to attend (answering this question intelligently will require some research about the university)
- Why you? What will you bring to the Georgetown campus community that will add unique value to it?
- How do you envision yourself putting your Georgetown education and overall experience (it's not just about the academics, it's about all the other experiences as well) into practice once you leave?
- What are you passionate about? How have you demonstrated that passion?
Of course, you can never be sure what specifics individual interviewers will come up with, but the above four should leave you well-armed to deal with most of what might be coming.
The interview went really well. Lasted for an hour and 40 minutes! Overall a great experience. Thanks for all your help
How were you notified of your interview? I am still waiting…
@CeliaAP I received an email from Georgetown with my interviewer’s contact info.
Yeah Georgetown sends you the interviewer and then it’s up to you to schedule it. Which school within Georgetown are you applying to??
