Hi! I’m kinda new here so my apologies if something like this has already been posted, but I was just wondering what are some good signs for an interview. I know it’s kinda obvious to know whether it went well or not but I just want some opinions and experiences etc. I had my interviews a little back and I think the interviewer liked me? One of them even said something along the lines of “See you in March”, I don’t know if that is promising statement or not so feedback would be great. Thanks xx
My view of the interview is that, while they are trying to get to know each candidate, they are also marketing the school. We left every interview feeling like the interviewer liked our daughter and that she had a good chance of getting in. We got positive signs and signals, with similar comments to what you got. We were given tickets to school events. Sadly, I don’t think you can read anything into any of this. Yes, it is important that the interviewer like you, but that is still only one piece of the equation. They really cannot make promises at the interview stage, until that have all the facts for all the candidates in front of them. In the meantime, they want every candidate to walk away feeling wanted.
Thank you so much for the feed bac! xx

Don’t read too much into the interview. It is almost impossible for a single person to make the decision regarding a candidate. Typically this will require approval by a second reader (and the Dean of admissions). So although a particular interviewer might really like you, this sometimes can turn sour if one of the other reviewers says no to your application.
However it is a good sign that the interviewer likes you. This gets you over the first hurdle. Don’t take this to mean you are 100% accepted however. Good luck
Any young person who successfully navigates BS tours and interviews deserves a big feather in their cap. It’s not an easy process and I think kids who do it are exceptionally brave. I think AOs ( more than anyone else ) appreciate how unnerving BS interviews can be so all the compliments an applicant receives are truly genuine and well-deserved.
That said:
Think about it: At this stage in the process the AO hasn’t seen your application yet. It would be entirely premature and inappropriate to say something like, “See you in March” with any degree of certainty. At this stage ( it’s safe to say ) you’ve done a fine job presenting yourself and the AO is encouraging you to send in an application.
I know it’s a difficult time but try to hang in there. Just completing the BS application process is a big deal and you should be very, very proud. All the best to you M10 Welcome aboard and Good Luck!
Thank you
As long as you felt that you did well, you shouldn’t stress any further about the interview.
This may be a case of selective hearing. S/he really said, “I hope to see you in March,” and the applicant selectively did not hear the first 3 words.
