HAHAHAH! :D

@ quasi : it's absolutely not possible to show interest or initiate an interview with Harvard in any way..i got a phone call from an alum one fine evening that he'd been asked to interview me; so there's nothing you can do about it till he dials your number too.!!
btw, which school are you from??

"Thanks guys!

I did write the recommendation, trying to stay within the thin red line between too modest and extravagantly bragging, because my interviewer was like "Send it to by this afternoon. Without fail.", so I didn't have much of a choice.

Even my interview was something like I have never heard of before. I was practically grilled by two people, seemed more like an interrogation. They asked me all sorts of weird questions "Which country is Gary Kasparov from?" "What do you he is doing now?" And then when I asked them about their Harvard experience, they said "It's the best darn college in the world, what do you expect?"

I dunno, it was weird. "

Is this a serious post? Lol, that's awful (and makes me really glad that I never applied to Harvard)!

but how did they get to know about you????????????!!!!!!!

dammit. i guess you don't know. never mind. maybe they have contacts in the fricking interpol or something...it's harvard, after all. i can only hope i get a call next year.

i'm from lmg. you?

Hey Quasi!

I believe Harvard was somewhat selective in giving interviews this time, because I know many people from the same area as me who didn't get calls for an interview.

It's simple anyway. So many applicants, less interviewers. Numbers game actually.

But why they selected us few and not the other few is always a tricky thing, because more or less we are all equally qualified applicants.

So, if you are applying next year, just play your card well ... do awesome in your application, write superb and honest essays, enjoy life, waste time doing nothing, fool around a bit ... and you might get in!

But then, I may be wrong about the selective thing. But the last part still counts, put in a lot of effort but try to stand out.

i am from Birla High School..are you applying next year?? as for the interview and them getting to know about us, check out some other threads in this forum, u might get an answer..my interviewer said some sort of sorting was done before they selected 4 people including Adrivit and me, to be interviewed..am just praying that he was right..

if you are in XI now, i absolutely buttress what Adrivit says plus i would advise you to get your standardized tests out of the way as soon as possible..also, delve deep into your extra curricular activities rather than just making a hollow laundry list..good luck..

I literally spent 10 minutes choking because I was laughing so hard over this.

I hope everyone’s interviews are going well.
