Do you need to conduct an interview with West Point to recieve an appointment? I am aware that you need to conduct one with your MOC but I am not knowledgable on whether one is needed for West Point. Thanks

The interview with your MOC is for a nomination. You would also have an interview with a representative from Admissions.

i never had one for WP. i asked my admissions officer at WP about that and he said they will only do one if you really want one or are on the border between being accepted and not and they need more info about you. he said that if he needed one for me he would call my ALO and have my ALO schedule it with me.

barce11: An interview with a West Point laison officer is likely, but not mandatory. My understanding is that an interview is conducted whenever possible.

I highly recommend one since the choice to attend an academy is a huge decision. The more you know about your choice the better.

My son never had a WP interview. In fact, prior to actually submitting his application he didn't officially visit WP.

If you attend the Summer Seminar they will probably perform an interview right there; that was the case with me.

What if my liason officer was at the MOC interview? did i already have my interview without knowing it?

yes. and yes.
