Hi everyone!

I have an interview coming up and was looking for any advice. How was yours (if you had one)? Let me know! :)

Thanks!

I had a local one about a month ago with an alumni.

We met at a local bakery, about 10-15 minutes away from each of us, which was very convenient. I took a wrong turn and was freaking out because I thought I was going to be late - I called her to let her know, and she was very okay with it and I ended up arriving just on time. We chatted for almost an hour, very low-stress, friendly conversation. And yes, I do mean conversation, it is very two-way rather than an interrogation feeling. She gave me some background information about herself so that I could ask more specific questions if I wanted. She also asked me some questions that were fairly open-ended. She didn’t take any notes on what I was saying, we simply had a nice talk.

I enjoyed the experience overall. I think the alumni interviews are more for your benefit (and to add to your CommonApp) then for them to report back about you, although they might.

If your interview is on-campus, since you did not specify, I apologize that this may not be helpful.

I also had an alumni interview. It was much the same as above. For me, it started as her asking me the typical questions about why Case and career goals. Then about halfway through I could ask questions. It was informal and really nothing to be scared about. She did mention they reported back to Case, but that it didn’t have a major impact.
