Interview

Has anyone interviewed at the college yet? If so, what should I be expecting. I interview next Monday! Any advice or thoughts would be appreciated! Thanks!

I interviewed last week  It was very low-key, you just get to the Undergraduate Admissions Office sign in, and they give you the name of your interviewer. Then, you sit in the waiting room until your interviewer comes to get you, and the biographies of each interviewer are on the wall for you to look at. The actual interview was very casual, and they typically last 20-30 minutes–mine was 30, but other kids took as little as 16 minutes. The questions are some normal, about EC’s and your passions academically, but the interviews make up their own zany questions, like “What invention would you un-invent?” and “What fruit are you?” It felt more like a conversation than an interview, and my interviewer and I got along very well. Definitely don’t be nervous, it’s a very low-stress environment, different from any other interview I’ve ever had. Good luck

Thanks so much! Did you bring a resume?

My son took an activities resume, they will add it to your file. It’s a good way to include info that may not be on your common app.

They tell you not to bring anything, but I’m sure if you brought something they’d accept it. But no, you don’t need to bring anything.

any suggestions on what to wear? (male) Is a polo and nice shorts ok?

I would do polo and khakis, and sperrys or something. Have fun and good luck!

I don’t own sperrys. I have 2 choices, my leather jordans or nice but worn down dress shoes

i would say the Jordan’s are fine!
