Hi, so I think I missed scheduling interviews for lots of schools (Amherst I think is one) and even though most of them say that interviews aren’t considered when they review your apps, they must count for something right? Otherwise why have them right? But either way, does this mean I am basically screwed for those schools?
Cause they’re already pretty competitive schools, and I mean shouldn’t I be doing everything to show that I really want to go and also to show who I am? is that gonna look bad?
If they say interviews are not considered, then they’re not considered.
I think it’s a good way to get to know more about the school, so you can write a better “Why School” Essay.
Sometimes they have them because they make the alums who carry most of them out happy.
okay thank you guys for your help!
"I think I missed scheduling interviews for lots of schools " What do you mean? Do you mean you found a bunch of email requests in your spam folder? Otherwise, these occur (possibly) after you apply – and then typically only in Jan-Feb. Many schools don’t have enough volunteers so you may not be contacted. Simply monitor your emails and spam folders. You’re fine
At Amherst (College) interviews not only aren’t considered, they are not offered at all. So cross that one off your list.
