Will be having my interview next week. Those that have already been interviewed, what kind of questions were you asked?

I was asked things like- What do you want in a college?, How did you learn about UR? What career are you thinking about? What do you do for extracurriculars? What classes are you taking this school year?

My interview was only about 20 minutes long and it was really casual. I found it to be a lot of fun.

you fill out some short paper first about your current courseload, extracurriculars, and some other stuff I've forgotten now. the interviewer goes through your information and you talk about it. whatever the interviewer is particularly interested in will become the subject of the interview.. i mean the conversation.

yeah interviews are more like conversations. Mine ending up talking about like music I listened to and concerts and random stuff. Its real informal and laid back.

Are interviews mandatory?

don't think so.. but they greatly improve your chances, and admissions here isn't all about stats. highly recommended. if you absolutely can't make it to the school, then try to find some event in your area where there's an alum conducting interviews or whatever
