I applied RD to WashU and im not sure if I even have a chance for the merit-scholarship programs so I dont know whether to apply. I have a 1470 SAT and 700,800,800 SAT IIs. I have a 4.0 weighted and 3.85 GPA. Average extracurriculurs and pretty good essay. What different scholarships are there and how do you apply to them. What are typical qualifications for people who get these scholarships?

Anybody who has done a local interview, how did it go and what kind of questions did they ask? How long did it take your interviewer to contact you after you submitted your app.

I had an alumni phone interview because I live in NZ, and the lady was really nice. I didn't think it went too well though, I kinda screwed it up a bit. I wasn't sure whether I should apply for scholarship, because I don't even know whether I got in - my stats are average for WUSTL applicants I think, 1450 SAT, no SAT 2's (but international so it's okay:D), good toefl score, GPA in american style 3.8UW ish? Virtually no extracurriculars - some 'shallow' ones. Good essay.

I think I'll end up applying anyway. I already got my 2 recommendation letters required for the Moong? fellowship. All I have to do is write my essays - hopefully my efforts won't be wasted! Even if I don't get in at least I'll feel better knowing I did somehow try!

Oh and I got my interview offer via email, in early October. I had the interview on 4th of November, took about 40 minutes.
