Interviews at colleges...

I'm confused about the college interviews that everyone is talking about. I have never heard or known anyone that has ever been requested for an interview. If they call you for one does it mean that they want you more than other candidates or do they call you if you're possibly going to be deferred as a means of a final check that they don't want you.

Knowledge on the matter?

Only a few schools conduct interviews. A few more interview for specific college scholarship programs.

If they offer you an interview and it’s possible for you to arrange a suitable time to meet, you should take the interview. Refusing an interview doesn’t look good.

They usually try to offer interviews to as many people as possible, but most schools require you to apply early (and some require you to specifically request an interview) to be able to get an interview spot.
