Interviews

I'm applying RD and I have my interview tomorrow (Saturday), RIGHT after my SAT. Ugh, the timing could not be worse - my brain will be so fried.

Has anyone had his/her interview yet, and could you tell me what it was like? Casual conversation/Q&A session, informal/formal, what types of questions are they required to ask? I think I saw someone say on this forum that the alumni interviewers were difficult to converse with because they were "unsocial nerds?" I hope this isn't true.

I'm nervous - I can't even tell if my interviewer is a man or woman, or if s/he is young or old. I guess it doesn't matter that much, but still, it's nice to know what to expect.

Be comfortable, have questions to ask and be prepared to answer questions about your academic life, your desires, you study intentions, and why you want to come.

As for the interviewer, it really depends on who you get. The guy I got was a cool, nice person. My friends also had similar people.

Some of them, beware, may ask you really weird questions. I think my friend got asked "If you died right now, what would be on your tombstone?"

i had my interview the day before thanksgiving, and the guy was really talkative. i was worried about weird silences but it was comfortable, except sometimes, i felt he wasn't giving me enough time to answer the questions. then, he seemed confused about the interview b/c he seemed to think that i should have stumbled more over my words and been a bit more indecisive.
i hope your interview went well.
