does JHU require/give alumni interviews?
do you ahve to request one?
or is it just not a part of the JHU admissions process?

You can either request an Alumni or an on-campus interview (which is done by an admissions representative, often a student). If you're a Junior, you should do this some time this coming summer or fall. Only do one, not both. In fact, you're only allowed to have one interview.

Hopkins doesn't place any weight on the interview for their admissions decision. It just helps them paint a better picture of who you are... Which I guess can be in one way or another affecting their decision, but not on a large scale.

There is no advantage or disadvantage to getting an interview. I did mine to ask unanswered questions about the university. They tend to be very informative.
