Intro to BME

does anyone know if this class is hard or not that bad?
just comments in general on the difficulty level of this class and if major studying is required or not that much

Well, I think intro-level classes are pretty difficult in things like BME in order to weed out the less committed kids. Actually, I'm pretty sure everything is hard if you're doing BME.

Does Yin still teach the class? If so, yes, it's a weed-out. But not because it's anything super-hard, mostly because there's no teaching involved. The textbook is this huge BME handbook that's too advanced and not very helpful (at least, it was when I took it), and they teach you a tiny bit of a lot of things. It's supposed to be a taste of what you can do with BME, and it is pretty interesting to learn about all the applications. The difficulty is that because it's a fall course freshman year, you haven't learned any of the real math/mechanics/engineering/etc needed to actually solve these sample BME problems. The homework problems are simpler versions of what you might solve in advanced BME courses, but instead of really understanding any of it, you just have to fiddle around with they few equations they give you, and do a lot of googling. Interesting... not very useful... but worth dealing with. I wouldn't let the class turn you away from BME.
