investment bank "tests"

What kind of finance questions do they ask you?

Here's a statistic for you: 98.24% of the people who go to Bentley (or ZooMass or wherever) fail at life.

nodnard: Nice statistic, unfortunately I'm doing quite well. As well as all of my friends. Few at Big Four, One at JPMorgan M&A full-time, one at Credit Suisse Summer Analyst, and the other at UBS Equity research.

Also, I love suckers that get mad and attack me personally, because the truth gets to them. HO HO HO!

Even for serious applicants who goto target schools with 3.5+ GPAs and other credentials may it be work experience or leadership roles, I'll give those about a 10-15% chance to get in.

Look up the placement statistics for any target school and you will see that is way off.

Just talking out of my ass, but the statistic today states 98.24% of people on this board will not get into IBanking @ BB.

[/quote]

Dawgie, I agree with your statistic if everyone here went to Bentley. The fact of the matter is that the majority of posters on here go to better schools.

You can deny all you want, I'm not taking any of it into consideration.

Clearly.

(10 chars)

What kind of questions do they ask for you in finance?

Just get a vault guide.....thats how I prepared....

So you're telling me that of the five people that IBs hire out of Bentley every year, you're friends with four of them?

Either: a) you're a liar, b) your friends are really doing backoffice **** (where most hires from off-the-f'ing-map non-targets go), c) you guys are connected up the ass.

c) doesn't seem very likely, because if you were connected, you would've gotten into a better school than Bentley (at least Babson, man!). I vote for a combination of a & b. It's very likely that you or your friends are doing backoffice stuff, although you're still probably exaggerating. Unless, of course, all those people on ibankingoasis.com, my friends in Wharton (the only thing they -- or Blackstone, Lazard, GS, MS, Evercore, Greenhill, etc... -- know about Bentley is that it comes on four wheels with leather seats), and everything I've read is wrong.

That, or you're all SEO hires.

P.S.: Big 4 accounting? Big f'ing deal. They hire from everywhere and in droves.

nodnard, I am friends with very smart motivated people. All of them had 3.9+ GPA's and extensive work experience, etc. They networked on their own. One of them placed high in the UBS stock competition, was granted an interview and got the summer analyst position for equity research.

I never bragged about Big 4, but it sure as hell is better than most entry level jobs. Oh I'm failing life because I've made it to Big Four, please kid tell me where I should be working then? Seems like you are an angry child that's hating. Give me your credentials now, I would like to hear how great your career is going if Big Four accounting is ****ty.

I want age, work experience, or any competitions you have won. Clearly, you have x10 better experiences than me since you chose to attack me personally over my broad statements.

He goes to UPenn. You go to Bentley. That's all that needs to be said.

Not really, I'm already graduated I could careless about my undergraduate degree. jnpn if you think for a second I care what school he or even you comes from, you are damn wrong. That would never stop me from reaching my goals.

Obviously you are another pathetic person over the internet that has been hurt by my indirect comments that finds the need to attack me personally. Anymore on this forum? There was a reason why I said 98.45% won't make it, because of ignorant naive kids like you.

jnpn work experience, and accomplishments have you achieved?

That's great, but employers do care what school you come from. I guess it doesn't matter as much in your case since your aspiration was to become an accountant.

How can I be hurt by something so obviously false. You are getting attacked because you are annoying, and I don't want some people reading these forums to get mixed up and actually believe your BS.

Take my previous post and substitute Ross for UPenn. I'd compare work experience and accomplishments with you if you actually went to a comparable school.

That's great employers care about what school I come from, but just like anyone from a non-target school I could have went the extra mile to create connections. I would have done that, if I only gave a **** about IBanking just like my friends did.

Anyways, so you goto a target school, how come you have no experience? Gee, I thought just getting accepted to a target school might that you were automatically successful. There goes that, you don't even have 1 internship. Haha! Like I said 98.45%, target schools with no experience, too funny.

Accounting is a great profession for me, especially when you have other hobbies/goals in life besides working all day! Haha!

Did I say I have no experience?

dawgie...just stop this. you are making this thread meaningless...please. just get to your accounting work.

as for vault guide, there seemed to be many different ones, but what is the exact title that i should get? vault's guide to finance interviews, 6th ed?

^ that is the copy I got, not sure the edition, i think its a little bit overkill for internships but it cannt hurt

What is this, an internet *ing contest? I can make up all the * I want just as you can. It doesn't get you far on a message board.

After this, we can brag about our dicks. I'll start: mine's 9.4" long.

Get my point?

Isin't Bentley suppose to be a car?

not really going to get involved in this idiotic arguement but

"Accounting is a great profession for me, especially when you have other hobbies/goals in life besides working all day! Haha!"

Big 4 accountants still work obscene hours, not at bad as ibankers, but still almost double the average work week, so I don't know how well the quality of life arguement is (unless you're in some weird department)

Also, I may have just skimmed this thread, but you say you're at your "summer office job" which makes me think internship/temp job, but then you say you already "made it" to Big Four.

I'm all for condescending/sarcastic when people are being morons, but you really need to justify it.
