investment bank "tests"

You can get the Vault Guide to Finance -- any edition should do, as the questions don't change often.

Winning an online debate is much like winning a drinking contest -- in the end, everyone suffers negative consequences.

WRONG! Winning a drinking contest shows that you are THE MAN.

at the expense of several million brain cells... ouch

drinking doesn't kill brain cells, it only shrinks them

It's so funny how dawgie is always going around these forums saying how hard it is to land a banking job and how 98% of people fail at getting it. 98% of people that you know failed at getting it b/c you went to a non-target school. At my school even guys with a 2.8 gpa land banking jobs...at Wharton if you want to do banking you will get an offer somewhere. It's pretty rare to hear about someone not landing at least one banking job. Most have at least a few offers.

Dawgie at least try and get a job at your big 4's transaction advisory group...

Drinking kills all the weak brain cells, so cheers!

I actually agree with Dawgie. Ibanking isn't something that everyone could do. Otherwise, the pay wouldn't be so high. Ontop of building a resume that conveys "I work 70 hours a week regardless of what i am doing." You also have to prove that you're smart enough by passing the technical portion. Its not like most interviews where the typical 2 stages is; fit and organizational. The technical interview is where most people fail, if offered an interview.

The only reason that the ibanking rates are high at the ivies is because those are some of the brightest and hardest working individuals enrolled in universities. Ontop of mantaining 3.6+ gpas, they are leading clubs, studying valuation models, working full-time or part-time jobs etc etc.

nods righto JPNguyen. could probably do with a little bit less provocative remarks from Dawgie.. but i agree with the gist of his idea.

CORRECTION IS COMING! let's all not root for ibanks and do sciences instead.
