<p>This may be a silly question but I am pretty new to all this. Do you wait until you have submitted the common app to the school to invite the teacher recommendation to be done or can you invite them prior to submitting common app to school?
My son has spoken to the teachers and they have agreed to do recommendation but I am not sure I can do the invite now because we will not submit the application for a couple more weeks while we complete edits on the essays. Please let me know and any help is appreciated.</p>
<p>You cannot submit the application until you invite recommenders- the common app wont let you. You should invite teachers now.</p>

<p>No problem. Also, your son should be filling out the application, not you. There is some info that is needed from parents but for the most part the applicant should fill out the entire application on their own.</p>
<p>I also have a question about inviting recommenders. My son is e-mailing his teachers requesting that they be one of his “Recommenders” but he wanted to include in his e-mail the date that the form should be completed. Does anyone know if they have to have this done by Nov. 1st? Can they come in later?</p>
<p>@davenmame I would just write in the email that the application is due Nov 1st- teachers will know when they need to fill the form out to have it sent in time.</p>
