Haha, really? In my perspective, Irvine is made is mostly of residential housing. The main areas are probably UCI, Irvine Spectrum, and areas around Culver St.

That's exactly the problem. The city hates hobos and outsiders! They make the area confusing on purpose and refuse to post signs to serve this very purpose! The only reason I ever go to Irvine would be Spectrum or Curry House. :)

Two years IN COLLEGE; high school is worthless.

Okay, I was talking about how some colleges refer to two years of a foreign language in terms of two years equivalent to two years in high school, so really "two semesters". But I reread it and I see you mean they want you to take two years additional to get a diploma. How crappy. Good thing I'm taking a foreign language now and hope to continue it.

I like learning East Asian languages in general, but I guess it helps being Asian to begin with, haha. Sometimes I feel like I'm cheating!

"That explains it. There is a larger community of Japanese in Nor Cal than So Cal. Highschools down here have trouble finding Japanese teachers."

Unless you go to Costa Mesa.

Yes! I love Curry House!

Yah, it's either that or Tofu House. Adding "House" to a restaurant name sounds rather popular it seems. Ah, how could I stand moving away from OC? If only the weather was cooler and less sunny!

Isn't that typical of inland Orange County in general?

Well, I wouldn't say so. South OC is scared of anything to the north of them. Too "ghetto," apparently. Irvine is one of the few cities I've heard of that shuttles hobos out to adjacent cities (maybe they only take them to Santa Ana?).

If you don't mind me asking, what ethnicity are you?

Are you serious? I knew Irvine intended on keeping its city clean but I did not know that they went that far.

The differentiation between north and south OC--I haven't really heard that much before; I've heard about the differentiation between inland and coastal more.

"I agree with Gabe, I'm a science major and some of the smartest people I know are philosophy majors. Philosophy is the study of pretty much everything, so your mind has to be pretty sharp to be good in philosophy."

I don't know man. I still think math and other hard sciences are tougher.

If you don't mind me asking, what ethnicity are you?

I'm Chinese. But people have a hard time telling if I look Korean or Japanese, (shrug) so I hesistate to tell people if I'm anything at all.

The differentiation between north and south UC--I haven't really heard that much before; I've heard about the differentiation between inland and coastal more.

My intro poli sci teacher watches "Laguna Beach" and mentioned that Laguna bashes Mission Viejo (another south OC city). Hilarious. Coastal tends to be south OC, I think. Like Newport Beach, Laguna Beach, etc.

Yea, So. OC residents consider anything above them as "ghetto." It is pretty ignorant if you ask me. Then again, you are talking about people who live in areas such as Laguna Beach and Newport Beach. Actually, according to the show "Laguna Beach" they consider Mission Viejo to be "ghetto." I mean cmon!

I don't know man. I still think math and other hard sciences are tougher.

Math and science get to memorize lots and lots of formulas! So many numbers and letters! Philosophy is so roundabout it gives you brain aneurysms. Well, math and science, too, but in a different manner. I don't know what I'm talking about. :(

Mission Viejo is inland; Laguna Beach is obviously coastal. Don't people need to say "Laguna Beach" in the case of Laguna Beach (as opposed to Laguna), considering there are other Lagunas in Orange County.

Ha yeah. Too conservative for me. Soccer moms and rich kids in there lifted trucks and SUV's. Or theres the street racers in there lowerd civics. Crazy.... Go to the bloc and you'll see everything you need to know about OC.

I think that's exactly why the kids on Laguna Beach bash on Mission Viejo. Because their homes aren't ocean front!

Haha! He/she heard that too?! What a coincidence. Mission Viejo is no Newport Beach but it is nowhere near "ghetto." I love how these snobby girls have such big egos. It sickens me. How can you have the nerve to consider yourself on another level as those who live in a city where their income is not 6-digits? They are living on daddy's money, yet they feel that they are far and above everyone else. Reality check: it is NOT your money. Your dad is the one who became successful, not YOU!
