If it asks about integers, does 0 count?

Yes, 0 is an integer.

BUT, 0 is NOT a positive integer. The SAT likes to ask about positive integers a lot, just to make sure you’re reading closely.

In addition to being an integer it’s an even integer.

Very much so!

It’s a whole number as well

Can 0 be a grid in answer? The first column doesn’t have a 0 option…

0 is an even integer, that is neither positive nor negative. It can be an answer on the grid-ins, since the three columns on the right all have 0s in them, so you can enter the number into any one of those.

Integers {…,-2,-1,0,1,2,…}
Positive Integers {1,2,3,…}
Nonnegative Integers {0,1,2,…}

0 can be gridded into column 2,3 or 4.

I scored a 790 on SAT math… coz I didn’t consider 0 as an even integer… :P

^ Yeah, that hurts. I actually know a 2390 scorer who did the same thing…

The SAT is good at writing questions that make you take your eye off the ball…it’s sort of a mis-direct. Like “for how many ordered pairs of positive integers is 2x + 3y < 6”. I’ve seen lots of smart students completely forget that 0 is not positive – they KNOW it, but something about the problem makes them forget to keep that in mind…
