...in the eyes of college adcoms? Like would it set off any red flags? Or is this about average/slightly above average? We have about 180 days of school.

I didn’t know that adcoms even found out about your attendance record…

You kidding me? 10 days? Wow…that is nothing.

Besides, it doesn’t matter if you missed 50 days as long as you still kept a 4.0.

3.9 uw…

I don’t even think they see your attendance, nor would they care.

only a 3.9?

Apparently I’ve been absent 14 days this marking period. I don’t remember faking sick THAT much.

Hahaha. ljm, is a 3.9 THAT bad? That’s just one B+ and like 3 A-s, the rest being As (out of 15 total grades) in all honors/APs…

And yeah, the funny thing is, out of full days I was absent, it’s probably no more than 3. It’s just classes here and there that I chose to miss because I wasn’t ready for a test or didn’t have the HW done that added up… and I think my school puts “days attended” on the transcript…

Doesn’t seem a lot to me. Many people at my school eave for school break a week early because of their travelling schedule, plus a few sick days… easily ten.
My school goes ballistic and you’re at the risk of being expelled if you miss a day of school unless you’re gravely ill or you’re away for IMO.

^ haha how would they even find out the circumstances?

AP Chem. 21 absences. FTW

My old school used to have a policy of automatic fail after you missed a class ten times. I missed 20+ in each class and still kept a 4.0, so that was bs…

it depends on your school. as long as you have a note, you’re excused, miss as many days as you waaaaaant. i know people who come to school the days of important tests and still pull straight a’s. don’t ask me how, lol. however if you’re not excused that = truancy = call home and if you don’t get notes on why you’re missing, your parents go to jail ahaha

My school freaks out if you miss ten days in a semester. I missed 13 and i had to do an appeal but almost everyone does. so no missing 10 days a year doesn’t seem like a lot to me. How can you not miss a tleast 10 days a year?

well theres one kid i know that missed 40+ days so… i think youre good dude. lol

In my district you’re not allowed to miss more than 5 a term or else you fail your classes… I don’t think it’s a big deal though.

if you’re sick, you need a medical certificate and parents email etc.
if you’re away on a science or math olympiad, then well… of course we all know that’s true.

At my school, if you get more than 8 absences in a class, you fail.
And since classes are semester-long, that basically means you can miss up to 16 days a year. Which I think I miss maybe 10-12.

I know this kid that over the course of his high school career, he missed something like 160 days. I don’t even know how he got that many doctors notes or something since it wasn’t like he was sick that much. He just stayed home. At my school, if you miss more than 6 days in a semester that aren’t exempt, then you lose your credit.

So you’re fine.

how about 10 days in one month… you’re fine!
