I am a sophomore going into my second semester and was wondering if 17 credit hours too much of a workload.
I’ll be taking:
Principles of Biology with lab
Principles of Chemistry with lab
Statistics
World History I
Should I take American government online? If I do take it online then I will have 17 credit hours.
I really want to get all A’s this semester but I don’t know if 17 credit hours is too much.
17 credit hours isn’t too much.
17 credits is not too much but just remember that taking 2 science classes with labs is going to be difficult. Consider each lab as an additional class since you have prep work prior to the labs, lab write ups and exams. If these are your first lab classes, you want want to forget the on-line class this semester.
17 credit hours isn’t too much, but 2 science classes with labs creates a heavy course load even if you only take 12 hours. As long as you’re confident in your ability to handle 17 credit hours (with two science/lab courses), then take the online class. If you’re not sure, then you can always sign up and drop it if it ends up being too much - you should be able to get a good feel for that within the first week of classes.
With 2 science labs I would not do it.
It really just depends – for some people, 17 credits isn’t too much; for some people, it is. It depends on what you have going on outside of school, what classes you’re taking, the way you study, etc. There are a lot of factors. If you wanna get straight As and can afford to delay taking the class, then I would take it next semester.
With 2 science labs, I’d say it’s too much unless you are a very focused and resilient student with some science aptitude.
Not at all. 17 is right about normal.
