This semester is going to be a hard one for me and my parents think I am taking way too many class and the classes are also hard. Also i am highly Dislexic (I dont know if i spelt that right) but anyways and i always tend to get distracted. This is my schedule:

MWF:
PE- only MW- 8:05-9:00
Texas History- 9:10-10:05
Federal Government- 10:15-11:10

Tuesday and Thursdays:
Biology- 8:35-11:35 including lab
College Algebra- 11:45-1:10
Dance Appreciation- 1:20-2:45

Is this too much plus on top of all this my parents want me to still somehow work 35+ hours a week! So please tell me what you think. Thanks so much for reading.

… you’re dyslexic, but you can’t even spell the term properly?

I don’t think PE or dance will give you much trouble, I’d say you’ve got 4 “real” classes. As for whether or not it’s overwhelming, that’ll depend on you and your school. Do you have experience in those subjects before? How do you usually do with history, is math your worst enemy? If none of those subjects worry you, I don’t think it’s a bad schedule.

If you’re really worried, go ahead and drop something, so long as you’re still above your school’s minimum unit requirement. Or you could give the current schedule a try, and drop something if it’s too much in the first week or two.

Working 35+ hours a week on top of that is probably too much though, unless your job allows you to study while you’re working (like swiping students into a res hall).

17 hours is too much. I have a friend that does 20 something, but he’s smart and focused. It is still a lot to handle for him.

However, my girlfriend is dyslexic and handled courses just fine, but she isn’t easily distracted.

If you’re good at math, college algebra will be a joke. Dance appreciation and PE I assume you do not need to worry about. Texas History/Federal Government keep up with the readings. Biology? Well, you’ll need to focus for that one as that requires memorization.

I am usually a slacker and handled 16 credits just fine. It depends on the classes. I took Chemistry and Calculus and am just getting by but who cares anyway, your grades won’t make you rich!

With a full time college load you shouldn’t be working more than 20 hours a week. Your college has PE? That is only a matter of scheduling time, not homework then, right? Aside from time constraints of working too much, it doesn’t sound like your schedule is too hard excepting biology.
