It’s not how many - it’s how far you can take your EC’s. Can you rank regionally, nationally?
For jobs, it’s consistency, possibly promotion, number of hours worked, whether your supervisor can write an eloquent and anecdote-filled letter about your character and actions.
Tutoring would be community service, which is always good.
Is National Honors Society good?
Not on its own. It’s not bad, but it’s what you do that matters - if there’s a charity drive, do you take it further than any drive on the past ten years? Do you do something innovative?
