Is 5 AP's too much for junior year?

I’m currently a sophomore who is setting my junior schedule for fall. I want to know your opinions on taking 5 ap’s.

Junior year schedule:
AP English Lang
AP Spanish Lang
AP Javascript
AP World History
AP Stat
Hon Physics
Hon Pre-Cal

Past AP’s:
AP NSL
AP APUSH
AP Computer Science

Extracurriculars:
Debate Club
National Honors Society
Girls Leadership Club
Link Leader

Thank you! ?

Wait do you mean AP Com Sci A instead of Javascript and AP Com Sci Principles instead of AP Computer Science?
Seems doable to me…I’m taking 5 as well next year. Nice schedule; it has a good balance.

Drop Ap stats. No college expects that many AP and adding AP stats to precalculus honors looks like padding.
Replace it with a fun class (music, theater tech, culinary arts, current events, journalism, robotics, etc) but since you already have six academic, high rigor classes you could even take nothing 7th period. (And I assume you have a lunch period)

Yes, drop AP stats.

No such thing as AP JavaScript or AP Computer Science - there’s CS Principles and CS A. Which is which?

What are your alternatives? I see no reason to drop AP stats for a ‘fun’ class if you find math to be fun (as my D does).

5 AP courses isn’t, by definition, “too many”. If you can succeed and enjoy them, I see no reason not to. But 4 is also plenty - don’t take them if you’re doing it just because you think 5>4 for college admissions. I have seen a few top schools recommend a year or two of music/performing arts, if you’re leaving them out just for AP/resume purposes.

To clear up any confusion…I took AP Computer Science Principles this year and plan of taking AP Computer Sci Java next year. Sorry for the confusion.

What is AP NSL? I can’t figure that one out.

@washugrad I think it’s another name for AP Government. I had to Google it up.

Oh I was thinking something or other Spanish Lit but then why would that go before Spanish Language. So what does the NSL stand for? I suppose I can google that…

AP US Government, to be precise.

NSL = National, State, Local

Ah thanks. That gets abbreviated as AP Gov here.
