Hey guys! I took the AMC 12A this year and got 90 on it without much preparation (wish I prepared more since I’m close to the AIME floor :(( ). Since I am a junior now, I won’t have the chance to take the AMC 12 again before I submit my college apps. I heard that top schools like MIT and CMU ask for AMC 12 scores, so I’m just wondering if 90 is a good enough score to report?
Thank you so much for your help
Also wondering this. I got 91.5 and 1 guess would’ve gotten me there. I’m also interested to hear if putting 91.5 on my app would be a detriment. Math competitions are not my thing (I’m a research/bio guy) but is it better to put a score that got close or no score?
Certainly doesn’t hurt to list it, though it probably won’t make an application stand out much.
AMC scores of ~50-60 or lower, on the other hand, are likely not worth listing.
@paul49ers Same lol I wish I guessed a few more questions…
@MITer94 Thanks for replying! I guess I will list it then
