Hi! So last year I had a 3.7 UW and a 4.4 W but I seriously slacked off sophomore year and ended up with a 3.62 UW and a 4.16 W I was just wondering if this ruins my chances at privates universities? My dream school is the University of Chicago and my long shot is Stanford. I have various extracurriculars but know that this fact does not compensate for the low GPA. Next year I will be taking 3 AP’s and honors. Will I be able to have a 3.8 by the end of junior year?

I got into UChicago with a 3.9 GPA and a 2270. I believe they care mostly about the intellectual brilliance of your essays.
@NCalRent I know, it sounds ridiculous :)) But thats the weighted and from what I’ve seen a 3.6 is pretty low for the colleges I’m shooting for and just wanted to know if I still had a chance

Realize that the acceptance rate for these two schools is 10% or less. You can and should apply but don’t be surprised if you don’t get in and make sure you apply elsewhere too.
