Ok, so in short, I want to transfer to Depaul, but I am split on the direction I want to take my majors, but I have narrowed it down to two options:

1) Double major in Finance and Accounting. Although not very well known nationally, Deapul's business program is known very well and respected locally. It offers two honors programs in accounting and finance. I think accounting is its strong point, as there are some students who land accounting jobs with the Big 4. Depaul's Bus school is also ranked in the top 40 by Business Week. So I know if I go this route and do well (doing well being the key point), I know I can land a good job with good pay even if it's just here in Chicago and not on Wall Street.

2) Double major in Economics (this is offered in both the business school and the LAS, but if I majored this, it would be in the business sector) and something else (accounting/finance/public policy...this is where I need help). I can really see myself getting into public policy at some point in my life. Like many other young individuals, I am full of energy and hope, and would love to do anything possible to help improve my community, and advance to tackling bigger problems nationwide such as healthcare, education, etc (it all really interest me to be honest). The only things that stops me from majoring in public policy as an undergrad are the job opportunities and pay. It seems like all the good jobs are for those who have at least a master's degree.

I like the first option because I am really intrigued by the business world. I really like math and working with numbers, and being able to analyze financial reports and give advice is something I can really see myself doing. The pay is not something to dislike either. However, I am not sure its something I'd want to do for the rest of my life. And double majoring in both accounting and finace seems like it limits me to just the business aspects of a career.

That's where the second option comes into play, and where I need advice. First, can a major in econ be enough for me to get in the door of public policy? And what I mean by that is, can I major in business econ and then go on to get a masters in public policy? Or even better for me, could I major in econ, go to law school and land a job in public policy this way? If I could, then I would probably choose my second major as accounting or finance. This would allow me to still go after the good paying jobs i desire now, go on to law or grad school later, and get into public policy later. But if econ is not enough, then I will probably consider my second major as public policy, as I feel this is my true passion.

Thanks to all who read, and sorry if this is vague or confusing, I tried to write things as brief as I can. I just really need help picking what direction I want to go with my majors in order to better position myself for the careers I want.
