Is a decrease in GPA (.2 or so) senior year enough to get you rejected?

My grades have gone down senior year (about a 0.2 drop).. I was sick for almost a month and missed a few weeks of school first quarter too which made things really hard...
Will Cornell reject me because of this?

no they will not (have not shown in the past that they will) reject you because of that.

Thanks... I've been freaking out about it. Should I tell them that I was ill and send in a medical report?

no, just go back to sleep...

in the words of me.............chillaxxxxxxxxxx

You seriously complaining? I can't believe why people worry about things like theses.

.2 is nothing. It's like just one letter grade, depending on how your school deals with grades. If they excepted you, they had to keep in mind of how your grades will be like towards the end. They aren't going to accept a person with borderline GPA that one nudge would destroy them.

The main reason why I was nervous is cause the biggest drop is in Biology, which is my major... I think I can have a B for the semester (depending on my semester exam). So I have like a 3.5 or so now.

Do I tell them that I was sick or no?

no, they will think you are a CC user if you say something like that. And that is the last thing that any school needs more of.

A .2 drop is pretty significant, especially when put into context. On a 4.0 scale, a 3.7 looks a lot better than a 3.5. Even so, I don't think it will have TOO much of an impact on your chances.

Tboone: That made me laugh! But we're all CC users here (is CC some sort of hard drug to colleges nowadays?), and I think we're all pulling for each other here (yes, being naive is fun).
CC users generally represent the better applicants in the applicant pools, anyway.
New hook: CC User!
