is a financial aid request a good sign?

My IDOC was slow to process, so the admission people sent me an email requesting that they recieve IDOC, which they did by the next day, after Collegeboard was contacted.

This is a quote from the request email:

"This is a message to request the following information needed to process your financial aid application for Haverford College...We will be happy to wait and make the aid decision once we receive the forms."

So should I consider this a good sign? Or just standard procedure...perhaps I am just delusionally, wishfully thinking...But I've heard things like this can be a good sign sometimes.

Any thoughts?

Sounds like it is a good sign, but try not to read into it too much. Getting a letter back from the college for a waitlist or rejection even would be extremely disappointing.

I got this a week or two before I got my ED acceptance. I’m not guaranteeing that you’re accepted but it’s good sign. Good luck! Maybe I’ll see you next year! :)

Do they notify applicants electronically or through mail? I am so nervous!

Acceptance letters come in a big, thin, rectangular envelope in the mail

what about international applicants? do they notify us through email?
