Son is an international living in the USA.
We got following letter:
Dear -----,
We require following additional information in order to make a financial aid determination. Please send us the information listed below as soon as possible.
.....
-please complete 2008-2009 CSS Finacial Aid Profile. This form must be completed because your family lives and works in the US.

I would think so. The fact they need more info to determine how much they can pay for son to attend shows that they will most likely accept him.

I wouldn't read too much into it. I'm not sure about Midd specifically, but with most schools the financial aid department operates totally separately from the admissions department. They prepare a financial aid package for every single applicant, and have no knowledge of who will be accepted or not.

But, hopefully it means good news :)

the application committee reviews all applications first, and then sends the files of the accepted people to the financial aid office. so yeah, you probably got in since you got this email, but i wouldn't count a lot on it. good luck!

Thank you for the responses. I will be back when I hear the result.

Oh, boy, I received one of these letters as well...
Maybe foolish wishful thinking, but whatever works!

Yes, my s. got deferred ED II but they still asked for addtl financial info both before and after the ED decision came out....so nervous waitng for RD now, it is the clear first choice, and I am so not sure whether he'll make it.....

I got that letter, then I got rejected EDII (not deferred but 100% rejected)

I'm so sorry, I don't think it looks too good for my kid, either. Do you mind sharing your stats?

I'm a second semester freshman at Midd -- last year I received a similar letter in mid-March for Financial Aid and was later accepted (the strong fin. aid package also contributed to me attending Midd over other comparable LACs btw!). Also, I had a similar scenario with another LAC in mid-March and was later accepted.

I'd say it's a great sign but obviously not a slam dunk.

I had a 33 act, 3.7 weighted gpa (my school doesn't unweight but it was probably 3.5 unweighted), top 10% and an eagle scout. I had some other decent extra currics.

IT WAS A GOOD SIGN.
Conglatulations to those accepted.
Hope other good signs for those who are not accepted.

Yep. I knew as soon as I got one.
Accepted :D

Another "good sign" was a last-minute "we need your SATs" even though SATs were optional. They accepted a fax or email copy (not an official paid ETS report). The SAT score was good but not great. They wanted them for statistics presumably and the acceptance came soon after.
