My son received an email from someone in the FA office of a selective private school, asking him to clarify a specific amount reported on a form. This school is need blind.
Is this a good sign that he might receive an acceptance soon?
Not necessarily, no. The FA office and the admissions office are more often then not not in communication with one another. They act independently.

I also wish your son the best … but as a financial aid director, I often reach out to prospective students prior to admission. I need to have all info clarified in order to provide a financial aid award letter in case the student is admitted.
