Is anybody else still waiting?

^ I’m with you, I applied EA in September and was deferred from Isenberg school of management. I still haven’t heard and I’m considering sending out my deposit to another school. This is getting ridiculous. How am I supposed to send a deposit by May 1 if I don’t find out until the end of April?

Still waiting… and my son sent his app back in October, was deferred… he basically has selected another school and we sent a deposit in so that he can get into an LLC he likes. I think we should get our application fee back, just on principle. Others from my son’s h.s. already have their decision. I think my son is so turned off by their treatment of him that he doesn’t really want to go there now.

Has anyone tried calling the school to see when exactly we are going to find out?

I didn’t call, but I did email the admissions dept. They responded that my son would be hearing from the very shortly. That was ten days ago.

I called and they said they’ve been having problems at the Admissions office and they just had a meeting and concluded that everything would be sent out by the 15th. Which doesn’t help at all.

Tab, I know it isn’t much but atleast it’s a hard deadline/date! Better than before when it was just “through April.”

For those that are still waiting, have you been diligent about making sure your grades are sent to the college.

The decisions must be mailed before April 15, so all of you who are waiting should hear soon.

If you are waitlisted, remember to keep your 3rd term grades high (if you want to go) and send them. Additionally, have one of your teachers perhaps write a letter about how you are qualified and interested and you yourself write a letter of interest.

I sent an email to the admissions dep. this past Friday and was told we could call Mon-Friday to get an answer via the phone. Well…my son called this morning and was told they would call us back with a decision sometime today. Still no phone call…and Im not holding my breath. This is so crazy. It seems like all of us who are waiting sent the applications in back in Nov/Dec. Something must have happened to them. This is really turning me and my son off from the school.

I’m a transfer so understand waiting a bit later… but the school hasn’t communicated with me at all.

They needed a letter that I sent in. I wanted to know if it got there as it wasn’t updated online, and the lady who I spoke to was incredibly rude and uninterested, and didn’t even make the slightest attempt at being helpful. She said if they don’t get it, they’ll send me a letter. Well they did send one in late March, what if its past May 1st when they realize they don’t have it?

I think I’ve taken this school off my list. Too bad I wasted my application money and time, though.

I’ve already gotten into 2 schools, and have a firm date for letters being sent out for another (and when I called the woman was very nice).

Deferred and now… waitlisted.

Are you kidding me? Should I accept the offer? Do you think that UMASS ends up accepting a lot of the wait listed students?

Never mind my previous message.

If you were waitlisted and really want to attend UMass, you have options.

Read this article: http://www.umass.edu/admissions/documents/waitlist_faq_f09.pdf</a> if you were waitlisted

Basically, you don’t need to send any any third term grades, as per my information. The wait list is first come first serve, so you should send your waitlist form as soon as possible if you want to get off.

All waitlisted students have the option to defer thier admissions to the Spring, I believe. However, if you qualified for the Abigail Adams Scholarship, you must attend another UMass or a Massachusetts State College for a semester to prevent it from expiring.

tab I’m “sorry” to hear that. I put it in quotes because it can still turn out good in the end, waitlisted isn’t always such a bad thing (as much as it stinks having to wait more). Better than hearing no after all this time.

jkshat - thats very interesting. I’m glad they know how waiting is the hardest part.

Deferred and now waitlisted as well; just found out today : ( good luck to anyone else still waiting

still waiting…

For anyone still waiting, I suggest to call. We finally got a call back yesterday afternoon. They told me my son was accepted. The website still shows “under review” and haven’t received anything in the mail yet. I don’t really believe it until we get the letter in the mail. Good Luck to everyone who is still waiting.

Congratulations! Do you think it was worth the wait?

My D and her friend (NY) both heard last week- accepted after being deferred EA.
