<p>Hey, I'm a sophomore in high school (in CA~)..um.. I'll get to the point. I always wanted to attend Yale, but through my sophomore year, I noticed there are so much more better (smarter) ppl than me...This year, AP World is the only AP class I'm taking, but because I procrastinate so much I'm not doing so well. I kind of wanted a 4.17 for this semester, but I can only get 4.0 at best. And probably, I'll get a 3 on the AP Test. Well, I think to myself, if I'm struggling with this one AP should I even try for Yale?.. I'm really depressed...Cause I see SO many people with crazy GPAs and EC's.. Do you really need to win a pulitzer prize to go to Yale? (haha. --) I just really want to talk to someone. Can anyone give me advice and help me out ?(someone who's attending Yale right now)..haha;; PM me too~</p>
<p>Hey man, don't feel bad. I'm almost in the same boat as you. I just went to an AP Biology study group and wow...I haven't felt that stupid in ages. Everyone else there was in the top 20, i'm 22. They were saying how their lowest grade was a 99. I had nothing to offer to that except a 92 in Honors English which is going to hurt.</p>
<p>I'm trying for an Ivy, but I dunno, it's looking bleak. So, hey, best of luck to you as well. Hey who knows, maybe we'll both make it in.</p>
<p>Having a weakness is only human. Go try and find something better to do other than studying. A sport, community service, travel the world...</p>
<p>be a teenager. you can still get into Yale. college acceptance is a crapshoot. you'll learn this when you apply as a senior.</p>

<p>Never give up. The moment you start thinking negative, it gets worse. Never, ever think negative because you will always find a fork in the road if you set your mind to it. High school is still a time of development, if you really want to go to an elite college, just try to grow as a person now. Focus on becoming the best YOU can be as a person, as an individual, not compared to others. What counts at the end of the day is that you've done your best - that's the only judgement you'll truly have in your senior year. Think high, aim higher! :D</p>
<p>My son is a freshman at Yale. If it helps, his college's dean told them during orientation that if there is one common thread that Yale looks for, it is "nice". I can echo that in all the other students I have met.</p>
