It comes out in five days. I think this year, the advertising and hype has been pretty low-key. Of course, the unfortunate terrorist bombings in London will dominate the news in England.

I'm sure many people are still incredibly excited about the release of Book Six though. Are you? I used to be a typical border-maniac Potterhead, but over senior year so much stuff was going on I lost interest and time for it.

I'd forgotten about the release of book six until a friend mentioned it last week. :)

I'm excited...though not as much as I used to be. That could be attributed to the fact that I'm now 15, not 11 anymore. But, still, I dont like to keep plots hanging, so I'm waiting to get it into my hands so that I know who's the one who dies in there (big hype on that one!) and the continuation of his life, I guess...

I CANT WAIT!!!!

I was never a rabid Harry Potter fan, but I'm looking forward to the new book.

Someone dies in the 6th one? I haven't been keeping up with the spoilers.

Yeah, I was reading the newspaper and in my entertainment section, they had an editorial, I guess, about the up and coming book and the various bets and stuff that people put down on who dies in this book. Some guy bet like thousands on it being Dumbledore (!), so they suspect some foul play there.

Who do you think Jo Rowling makes kick the bucket in this sixth book? Dumbledore sounds like a good guess.

Also-- do you think anyone in the trio (Harry, Hermione, Ron) will die in the next books? Or are they too precious to write off?

i cant wait!!! i dont want anyone to die =(

anybody going to a midnight party to get the book at 12:00:01 ??????? i am!!!!!!!!!!!!!1

i love harry potter

No, I doubt that anyone in the trio is killed. Perhaps deathly ill and almost doesnt make it, but i highly doubt death.

I think Hagrid could die soon. It makes me sad to think of it as hes one of my favorite characters. The same with Dumbledore.

I don't want no one to die; only Voldermort, lucius Malfoy, Peter pettigrew and that crazy b**** that killed sirius!

bellatrix lestrange and peter pettigrew are on my To-Die list lol

man; you guys need to go outside more.

^^^^
I agree with ilovemath...they need to die.

My guess is that Dumbledore dies.

haha i am definitely going to the midnight party with my friend :)

i preordered it and am getting it at borders at midnight. right after i see charlie and the chocolate factory, thanks to fandango. yeah. thats right, im cool.

I'm excited. She's not really an excellent writer, but she can tell a great story. It's hard to put her books down.

I'm so excited! It's going to be so cool!

Is Hagrid a half blood?

I think half-blood refers to half muggle, half wizard. So my guess is that it's gonna be Voldemort himself.

Minor Spoiler from bk 2: Chamber of Secrets:

I've never gotten this. How was Tom Riddle/Voldemort the heir of Slytherin when hes not even a pure blood?

ehhh, she spaced the books out too much. i mean, i started when i was in 5th grade! I've sort of lost interest.

^ yeah that's exactly what's happening with me
but i started like in middle school

It can't be either Voldemort or Harry... JKR said so on her official website. I personally think Hagrid is the half-blood prince, since I don't think she would drag out any obscure already-existing characters. Maybe it's a new character...at one point on her site, there was a description of a new character.

Anyway, I can't wait. Although I'm going to save it for my 14-hour plane ride to Shanghai. xP
