Going into senior year, is it okay to just take honors English, or should I take AP level? I am already signed up for AP Calc and AP Bio, and am worried that I will be putting a lot of effort into a class that I won't be able to get college credit for? It's not that I am trying to slack off at all, I just realize how much harder an AP class is, and I am not sure if it is worth it. The fact that I would take an AP test (and class all year) and not be able to potentially get college credit at all worries me a little bit.

Also, I plan to apply to some of my schools early admission, and they would not even see my senior year grades (unless differed). I know how important it is to have a rigorous schedule but I feel that I still would have a hard schedule with 2 AP classes and the rest as all honors? I know many people here take like 6 AP's at once, but I am worried that 3 is just too much for me to handle. I have a pretty good gpa (~97/100 or 3.84/4.00), taken college level classes before, and want to go to a good school, but I'm not applying to HYP and the really top schools like the ivies or anything like that.

well a lot of schools will take AP Calc and AP Bio as college credit if you get a high enough score on the AP test, but they won’t accept AP English because your required to take english to graduate- Am I just misinformed?

I would definitely take AP English. I mean you always need english credits, so the more I can knock out before college, the better.
And since I want to be premed and bioenginnering major, I would def take AP calc and Bio as well.

The credit question can factor in your choices of colleges to apply to (since not all offer AP credit and it can depend on your major and etc.) But the challenge right now is to get admitted. For something health-related, the AP bio and calc look good. For the schools you noted and that sort of major, H Engl is probably fine. For an early application, the hs will send the colleges a mid-term grade report, so stay on top of the classes.

My kids haven’t taken an straight English class in college yet. May never. What you need to check is whether they require “English” or one or more writing based classes, which generally must be taken there.
