So I'm planning on applying to NYU and I know if I get it, I'm 100% going. I was told that applying ED will give you an advantage but I was also told it would be a disadvantage because I would be picked out of the best of the best and the ivy rejects. My stats aren't as great as a lot of the other applicants so I'm afraid I'd just be shadowed by the other and better applicants. Should I apply ED2 at NYU? Would it be more of an advantage or disadvantage? Thank you!

It certainly would help, if you can afford the perhaps iffy FA they’ll give you.

Yeah I’m able to pay full tuition thankfully. @ivyhopes12

Yeah, if you don’t have to compare FA offers, then ED will help out with acceptance rate slightly. It’ll maximize your chances, assuming your application is complete and reviewed thoroughly.

And if you don’t request financial aid, you’ll have an even better chance at acceptance.

NYU is need-blind for domestic applicants. Although they historically have not met a large percentage of students’ need, they don’t consider an applicant’s financial need in the admissions process.

If you need significant financial need, do not apply ED to NYU.
