im a junior right now and im about to become a senior next school year. so i was wondering about applying for one college this summer when school is over. i have a 2.8 gpa and i just took my sat. imma get my results around may 22. i have looked at one of the colleges i am thinking about applying to and i saw their requirements and in my class rank i am suppose to score around a 1100 on sat.
if i score above a 1100 should i apply to this school this summer.

also will i be able to receive my acceptance or rejection letter before school starts in september

i am planning on applying to the university of texas at permian basin.

If the application process is open and you have all the requirements met and scores available, why not? It would be nice to have that under your belt!

The Common App for the 2015 application cycle doesn’t open until August 1st (i think). So if the school you’re applying to is a Common App school you won’t be able to fill out the app until August -you can still start your essays on a separate word doc and paste them into the CA form fields. Additionally only rolling admission schools will give you a decision that early in the year. Typically you’d receive a decision by December 15 (if you applied early) or April 1st (if you applied regular). Check which process UT Permian Basin uses.

Their common data set says that first notifications begin on Sept 1st. Section C9 tells you the scores of students typically accepted. 94% are in the top half of their HS graduating classes however. GL

The colleges generally list their deadlines on their web sites. They may be less likely to list when the earliest date you can apply is. Contact them directly if you cannot find that information.
