<p>I got 800 Math and 500 verbal....4.047 is my UC GPA....and I got 5 on Calc AP test...and 4 in chem and 3 in physics B....i got 790 in math 2C and 710 in physics and im retaking writing in nov..hoping 600+.....is my 500 in verbal going to make it impossible to go to Berkeley?</p>

<p>Have you tried the book 10 Real SATs? Tutoring? Your verbal score makes Berkeley an extreme longshot so do what you can to better it!</p>
<p>yes lisa, ive taken SAT classes, and ive tried 3 books....barron's, 10 real SAT's, and kaplan...but for some reason i cant do well on the verbal section, i don't know what to do know....its really scaring me. there is no point for me to take the SAT again....i just can't do the verbal section ....</p>
<p>what are your SAT 2 scores though... the UCs rely heavily on those. Also... are you in-state?</p>

<p>I'm not an expert but are you in the ELC at your school, that will greatly help your chances. When you wrtie your entrance essay try to sell yourself on your math ability adn tell UCB that your going to focus on a math major, never mention that 500 and point out your great math scores</p>

<p>For Berkeley normal admit is 23.9% while if you are in ELC you're chances go up to 62.8% so it does make a large difference. But another way to look at it is that the applicants in ELC are coming in with the best stats, therefore you expect the "smarter" kids to get in. But with your scores I feel you still got a decent shot.</p>
