I marked it down on my application but am wondering if it may be too difficult. I plan on going pre-med, so I need to get a fairly high GPA. How tough is this subject (anywhere near engineering)?

it's a hard science, so it's not walk through a park, but it's easier than engineering. It's the application of chemistry to biology concepts. Unless you have to apply to that major you can usually change your major through your sophomore year

Is it tough to get a 3.7 gpa in the major? Also, how much harder is it than just plain biology?

I would post this in the pre-med forum, dr sedrish is the mod there and can help you more than I can- I don't want to give out any misleading information
