For college what if i decided to major in bioengineering/biomedical engineering instead of a typical Biology/Chemistry major. As long as I fulfill the requirements (prerequisites) to get in to school will this be a good decision?

It will pretty much automatically fulfill the pre-med requirements (like a biology major), though it will not necessarily be any better than any other major purely for the purpose of going to medical school.

You may want to consider other factors in your choice of undergraduate major as a pre-med. For example:

Your other academic and professional interests.

What you may want to do if you do not go to medical school.

What may be useful as a supporting subject when you go into the medical profession after finishing medical school and residency.
